Training Recording: S-KAP Fundamentals of Ketamine-Assisted Therapy in a Private Practice Model : Practice Model, Approach, and Technique in Somatic KAP Treatment

The S-KAP model is nature-based, gesture-based, image-based, archetype-based, ancestor-based and focused on healing developmental trauma. As S-KAP therapists we use the spirit of Ram Das’s words “We are all walking eachother home,” to level out the power dynamics and humanize healing.

This class is for folks who are on the newer side of offering KAP and interested in learning how to run a successful and effective private practice KAP model. This ranges from the business and logistical to the art of offering attachment/healing language and somatic resourcing while the clients are with the medicine. This class is also appropriate for folks who have some experience with kap and are interested in adding in the somatic and intergenerational trauma healing piece.

This class will…

• Deconstruct the S-KAP Bubble Model in a private practice therapy model

• Provide S-KAP forms for ROIs, consent, S-KAP prep and aftercare

• Provide S-KAP ‘therapist guides’ for assessment, prep sessions, S-KAP sessions, touch agreements and integration sessions

• Teach prep session formatting for well curated S-KAP intention setting

• De-mystify the goals of integration sessions in light of integration practices and proper referrals

• Explore the role of the S-KAP bubble model therapist vs ongoing therapist

• Explore somatic psycho-education, practice and resourcing in S-KAP

• Introduce safe touch agreements and practice in S-KAP

• Provide attachment language for safe-touch in S-KAP

• Introduce assessment/practice for intergenerational trauma healing in S-KAP

• Learn verbal and non-verbal connection tools for S-KAP sessions

*This is an introductory level workshop for folks to gain an introduction to a private practice model or to add supplementary somatic/ancestral healing tools to their practice. This workshop is not a replacement for a in-depth ketamine therapy training program.

I began offering ketamine-assisted therapy in private practice in June 2020 and my caseload is now a mixture of long term clients using KAP and shorter-term KAP “bubble model” clients. I originally trained with Polaris Institute and The Sage Institute, where I currently supervise therapy interns at the low fee ketamine clinic. Some of the approaches I have trained in include Hakomi, Somatic Internal Family Systems, Neuro-Affective Touch, and Inherited Family Trauma. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where I created a somatic ketamine therapy practice network and offer consultation services for the S-KAP (Somatic Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy) model. I’m currently impassioned about bringing intergenerational healing into KAP work as well as using the massage table and aromatherapy in S-KAP.
